A Million Little Things season 2, episode 14 recap: The Sleepover
By Ariba Bhuvad
A Million Little Things tugs at our heartstrings as Maggie gets the all-clear at her 6-month cancer screening.
A Million Little Things has done a great job keeping viewers invested in each character’s story. One of my favorites has always been Maggie and Gary’s relationship. This is why I was heartbroken when they decided to call it quits, but this week promises some sort of friendship between the two of them–finally and sort of.
But before we get into that, let’s backtrack a bit to the rest of the gang’s arc this week on A Million Little Things. I was waiting to see how Theo would be affected by everything that has gone on between Eddie, Katherine, and Delilah. And now, we’re starting to see just how much is going on in his mind.
During a jam session Eddie is having with Dakota at their house, Theo feels threatened by how much fun they’re having. We aren’t used to seeing Theo act so rude to anyone, so when he’s mean to Dakota, it’s totally unexpected. It turns out Theo is just worried that Eddie will cheat on Katherine again. Can we blame the guy?

Rome and Regina have quite a bit of drama to deal with in this week’s episode of A Million Little Things. As you know, they’re trying to adopt a young woman named Eve’s baby. But her baby daddy is not in the picture as he used to physically abuse her. She’s been in hiding from him, but as learn this week, he’s tracked her down.
With the help of Katherine, they look into filing a temporary restraining order until they’re able to manage a more permanent one. And in the meantime, Regina gets Eve a place to stay in the women’s shelter.
It’s time for Maggie’s 6-month cancer screening, and it’s a day that she’s nervous to face alone. Gary certainly didn’t forget it was a big day for her, but unfortunately, he had to respect her space (even though she definitely wanted him there).
Instead, she calls Delilah to be there with her–and guess what? She’s all-clear! But the fact that she has to come back in another six months reminds her that she has to live her life in 6-month increments.
Despite Gary and Maggie not calling or texting one another, they both asked Delilah to keep them informed. When Gary gets a text from Delilah saying Maggie got the all-clear, his mini-breakdown made my heart hurt. I absolutely love this couple, and the fact that he still loves her so much made me pine for such a great love myself. It was certainly so sweet! I’m still holding out hope that they find their way back to one another.

And then last but not least, this week our dear little Danny had to deal with some heartbreak. His boyfriend, Elliot, told him he’ll be moving away, which means the end of the first relationship Danny has ever had. It’s a tough moment for the kid because he met someone who was just like him and got him.
Delilah was understanding enough to let Danny have a sleepover with Elliot, with Gary chaperoning while she was with Maggie. It was incredibly sweet and heartfelt! We’ll miss you, Elliot!
The episode ends with Gary revealing to Delilah that while she thinks things are back to normal with her and Sophie–they’re not. He found blunts in the sleeping bag he was using which only spells trouble once again for the mother/daughter relationship.
