Light as a Feather season 2, episode 14 recap: ..Mean as a Rattlesnake
By Wade Wainio
In season 2, episode 14 of Hulu’s Light as a Feather, Trey almost gets crushed, we learn more about the curse’s history, and Mack gets possessed again.
Previously on Light as a Feather, Peri (Adriyan Rae) and Alex (Brianne Tju) definitively broke up — with Peri being jailed over the mysterious body found in her vehicle’s trunk. Also, the Chrysalis curse apparently took away Sammi (Katelyn Nacon). As this episode begins, we learn that Peri had actually beaten Sammi to death with a bag full of ice. The question is: Was it truly her or the curse acting through her?
When Alex meets Peri in jail, Peri assures her that their love was real, and they weren’t together just to help her plot against Violet (Haley Ramm). Alex learns from Peri about Reverend Fahey (John O’Brien), as well as the religious community of Margaret Abbott (Kayla Di Venere). The word “Canaan” also comes up. By the time Alex leaves, she informs Peri that she’ll make sure she never gets out of jail.

Trey (Jordan Rodrigues) blames himself for Sammi’s death because he stayed behind as she headed to New York. Feeling conflicted, he even tells McKenna “Mack” Brady (Liana Liberato) that he just needs to be alone. Meanwhile, under the strain of the Chrysalis curse, Mack is getting patches of what may be called “Freddy Krueger” skin on her body (also, she has freaky veins). Later, when Trey and Henry (Dylan Sprayberry) go to pick up Sammi’s van from police impound, Henry tells him he can’t blame himself.
He notes that, in his own case, it was Violet and the curse that caused the death of his sister, Olivia (Peyton List). When a gate shorts out, Trey almost gets crushed while trying to fit through it. Of course, this matches his death as predicted in their game of Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board. Trey later apologizes to Mack for pushing her away.
Meeting Reverend Fahey
Mack and some others meet Reverend Fahey, who says Margaret Abbott passed away. After Violet asks him about Isaac (Brent Rivera), who has gone missing, he appears nervous. They think he’s lying and hiding things. They bide their time until Fahey leaves the church. Upon re-entering, Violet finds Isaac’s keys, phone, and sketchbook. Unfortunately, Fahey returns sooner than expected, threatening to call the police. They, in turn, threaten to blackmail him about Isaac, who is now obviously missing. He actually gives them more information.
According to Fahey, Margaret’s parents caught her playing the devil’s game — which is, of course, Light as a Feather. Margaret’s version also had accurate death predictions. It’s also believed that she was possessed, which led to a failed exorcism. Fahey says that Margaret’s eventual death unleashed the curse we know and love. As another freaky happening, Jennie has possessed Mack again, though she seems less shifty and more determined this time. Finally, Sylvia Gallagher (Brea Bee) shows up to confess to Sammi’s murder, which lets Peri free.
