It’s all about second chances on Episode 16 of A Million Little Things season 2 as the series goes all-in with the idea of second chances.

A Million Little Things goes all-in with the idea of second chances this week. Let’s start with Eddie and his sister Lindsay. Some episodes back, Katherine and Eddie had a conversation about whether or not they should let her come over. She is an addict, and even with her recovering, it could be problematic for Eddie, and well, of course, Theo.

Ultimately, they decide to let her come over but only when everyone can be home. Katherine takes the day off of work but is called in at the last minute. She’s hesitant to let Lindsay come over without her there, but alas, they have no choice.

Things are off to a great start when Lindsay finally comes over. There is some solid brother/sister bonding until…until…Eddie finds a vial of coke in his recording studio. He didn’t think twice and immediately assumed it was Lindsay’s. She didn’t get a chance to defend herself as he kicked her out of the house.

A Million Little Things know how to tug at our heartstrings, and because of how emotional it makes us, we know that the coke just can’t be Lindsay’s. And guess what? It’s not! It’s Daphne’s. Which Eddie realizes when she comes over to look for her “capo”. Come on Eddie!

Meanwhile, Delilah and Maggie decide to go out for a night on the town. Things have been rough as of late, so a girl’s night out won’t hurt. They have a pretty solid time getting drunk, and at some point, Delilah tries to set Maggie up with a dude at the bar.

But as it turns out, the guy wasn’t interested in Maggie, he liked Delilah. And once she realized that, the two went off like two teenagers making out in the night.

If I’m being honest, it’s nice to see Delilah let loose and just have some fun. I just hope this works out for her!

I am SO proud of Katherine after this episode. She was called into work (as I mentioned) and soon realized that her bosses were being jerks. They claim that she’s the best litigator they have, but they really want her there because she’s a woman, and their client is a female so, yah.

But it’s through talking to her bosses about cases that Katherine learns an alarming secret. A case was taken away from her and her assistant Carter because Carter is gay. Not cool, at all.

Fast forward to Katherine going home, she reveals that she quit work. She can’t work there anymore and she seems so incredibly liberated from this decision. And as happy as Eddie is, there are some nerves there regarding Daphne and the drug problem. But he promises Katherine they’ll figure it out, and she does not need to go back to her job. Team Eddie and Katherine forever!

Meanwhile, Gary is out with Theo for the day at laser tag. His day starts off flirting with the attendee there, but somehow, along the way, he meets one of Katherine’s friends Darcy, and her son, Liam, who is friends with Theo.

You can tell Gary is totally crushing on Darcy by the end of the episode, but as of now, she’s not interested. And to make up for being rude earlier on, she gets Gary the phone number of the attendee. As much as I would love for Gary to move on, my heart is still Team Maggie!

Rome and Regina are all over the place during this week’s A Million Little Things dealing with Eve. They haven’t heard from Eve since she left with Derek, and so they do the next most natural thing–track her phone. This leads them to a hotel in which after some persuasion, they get the hotel clerk to tell them the room number Derek is in.

Outside of Derek’s room, they only hear laughter, which is rather confusing. Is Eve okay?

Eve and Derek walk out of the hotel room and are surprised to see Rome and Regina standing outside. To keep things calm, Eve refers to Regina as Wendy, sending a signal to Regina and Rome that she needs help.

They handle things and eventually get Derek to sign over his parental rights. It almost doesn’t happen, especially when Regina’s name is said out loud instead of the name Derek thinks. The secret communication persists, however, after Regina says they’ll go to Cabot’s ice cream shop.

Apparently, this is a code word for a safehouse or something because before we know it, Regina is on the phone with the shelter who are confirming Eve is safe. Derek, however, shows up angry and frustrated at the restaurant, wondering where the heck Eve went. Badass Rome gives Derek a good beating and tells him to get out of town before he calls his boss and tells him what Derek does to women. Yikes.

And just when we thought things were going to wrap up on A Million Little Things this week, we are left with one more thing to ponder about. Lindsay eventually comes back over after Eddie apologizes, but as she’s leaving his house, she asks him a cryptic question. She asks Eddie if he remembers the cabin they used to go to, and wonders if he remembers why they stopped going. Eddie doesn’t recall much except that they stopped going after someone died in an accident.

Something tells me whatever Lindsay is talking about is going to be something we don’t want to know. Sigh. This show has already been heavy this season, I’m not sure I can take anything else that’s heavy and dark.
