A Million Little Things remembers Jon one year after his death.

A Million Little Things knows how to tug at our heartstrings, and this week we take a stroll down memory lane as the group gathers to remember Jon. It’s been one year since Jon took his life, and the group’s entire lives have changed drastically.

However, Gary doesn’t feel like his life has changed at all. Given everything that has happened over the last year including his breakup with Maggie, he feels he’s only fallen behind. Just like the rest of the group, I disagree with Gary. Things haven’t gone well for him, but he has grown a lot.

Gary may still be immature, but he inevitably finds his way back. And for that, he should be incredibly proud of himself. I was hoping that this episode would bring Maggie and Gary together, and at times it felt like they just might. Especially after Regina told Maggie that Gary is still in love with her.

Unfortunately, Rome only told Gary that Maggie is moving to Oxford, but didn’t tell him that she too is still in love with him. If only he had, then maybe Gary wouldn’t have decided to call the mom of Theo’s friend (Hello, Floriana Lima!).

I love her, so I’m okay with it, but I’m irked with Rome for not clarifying further. Come on, dude!

Plus side, it looks Gary wants to take this woman seriously and treat her more than a one-night stand. So, there’s that.

Delilah plans a dinner party with the group at her house to remember Jon a year after his death. Things are a bit complicated as she realizes that with everything that happened, she never grieved Jon’s death, and hasn’t really moved on from it.

It’s why after her random hookup, she doesn’t want to engage. It’s not until she sees a vision of Jon that she comes to terms with it all.

Lovely way to bring him back, by the way. Bravo, A Million Little Things.

What was especially lovely about the episode is how Sophie and Eddie have finally come to an understanding, thanks to Gary. Sophie is still reluctant to have Eddie around, but it’s not until Gary confesses that he had to forgive Jon for doing what he did. And if he can do that, then Sophie can forgive Eddie. It’s unfair to let one moment or one event change everything you feel about the person.

Eddie hasn’t been to Jon’s grave yet because of the shame and guilt he’s feeling. Sophie shows up at Eddie’s house and takes him to the cemetery and then says she forgives him. It’s a very sweet, emotional moment between the two, and it makes me happy that A Million Little Things finally brought an end to the animosity here.

The dinner is an absolutely beautiful, heartwarming event. Little Theo uses an Egyptian proverb to commemorate Jon and say that he will live on for as long as they remember him. When did he get so big?!

All in all, a year later, Jon’s family and friends have grown and become better versions of themselves–and it’s something he would be incredibly proud of.
