Jasmine joins the team while a family member’s arrival shakes things up On My Block.

On My Block is going all-in with the drama this time around, and they are not holding back. In seasons past, the drama has always been there, but something about season 3 feels more serious and frightening. I feel as if all the characters’ lives are in danger, and I fear that one of them may not make it until the end.

But what strikes me as interesting is the whole Jamal and Kendra storyline. I’m not sure what the purpose of this is here, but it sort of feels unnecessary. Nonetheless, she’s been stalking Jamal, and this episode finally brings some clarity on that front. She’s interested in him and is looking for more than friendship. Not sure this will end well for him, but time will tell.

Jamal may have a girl interested in him, but he seems to be failing in other areas of his life, particularly with the group. To help find Lil’ Ricky, the group recruits Jasmine’s help, but it’s thrown Jamal for a loop, He doesn’t want to share the role of leader with anyone, but Jasmine is eager to be involved as much as possible.

More from Show Snob

On My Block has really made Cesar more interesting in season 3, to the point where I actually care what his storyline is.

Ever since his and Oscar’s father, Ray, has shown up, Cesar has changed. He’s so excited to get to know his father, but Oscar feels reluctant because of the shady history he’s shared with him.

It doesn’t stop Cesar from forming a relationship with him, and this even leads him to get Ray a job at Dwayne’s. This way, Ray won’t have to move to Bakersfield, and Cesar will get more time to get to know his father.

I don’t think Ray is going to stick around, and when he does inevitably leave, I fear that it will impact Cesar in a very bad way.

Thank you On My Block, for finally giving us a female friendship to root for in Monse and Jasmine. These two have always fought and been at each other’s throats, but because of the fear surrounding the Cuchillos situation, Monse is staying with Jasmine.

I love how they’re gradually becoming friends because it feels so genuine and fun. They’re nothing alike, but they’ve found common ground–and I love it!

Please give us more of this, On My Block!
