Harley Quinn S2E2 recap: Harley and Poison Ivy head to college
Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are off to college in the newest episode “Riddle U!” Here’s how things went down against the Riddler.
How’s one able to see their killboard when Gotham is still an apocalyptic wasteland with no electricity? That’s the question Harley Quinn must solve in the puzzling episode “Riddle U.” With Joker and Penguin officially X’ed off her list, it’s time for Harley to take on the Riddler.
While attempting to figure out how to get clean water and lights for their squad hangout, Harley sees an ad announcing that the university Riddler took over still has power. Of course, for Harley, this means two things: kill the Riddler so that she can have all of Gotham’s power, and go to a sick college party with her co-ed, Poison Ivy.
Clayface attempts to join the girls in their undercover shenanigans by creating his own persona, Stephanie — complete with an entire back-story. Yet, Harley still rejects this idea and heads off to Riddle U with only Poison Ivy at her side.
Upon arriving at the campus, the duo discovers Barbara Gordon giving tours, and is fast to ask her where they can find Dean Riddler. However, Babs isn’t down with providing any answers without knowing exactly who’s asking. Harley responds with the only obvious answers: she is Heather Weatherby and her friend is Isadora Staplebunkin. Obviously. Cue the arrival of Stephanie, who seems to have already found her place on campus.
Doctor Psycho and King Shark are on their assignment: steal a water filter. Their mission seems to be a success until Two-Face’s henchmen arrive in cop cars, and chase the pair off with their Tommy Guns.. all the way into Bane’s territory.
After letting Bane’s goons know that they are not afraid of them, Doctor Psycho and King Shark quickly discover that they underestimated the now chemically-enhanced henchmen.
Back on campus, Harley Quinn finds and attacks who she believes to be the Riddler, but to her surprise is actually the university’s mascot. During this attack, her make-up disguise is washed off and Barbara Gordon discovers that Heather is actually Harley Quinn. This leads into a chase, and eventually, a breaking-in of Barbara’s dorm.
Barbara informs Harley and Poison that students have been disappearing and that she knows Riddler is behind it. She tells the pair that she wants to take down the villain and that she has wristbands to get into a frat party that he’ll be attending. Unfortunately for Babs who wants to also attend, Harley Quinn snatches the wristbands and takes off.
During this time in the dorm, we also discover that Jim Gordon has been staying with his daughter and that it’s been a rough couple of months. He doesn’t have any motivation to help his daughter take down the Riddler, and that he just “needs the Bat.”

While in line for the VIP section of the frat party, Harley and Poison find Clayface-Stephanie with a VIP wristband, because she’s Chad’s “almost girlfriend.” Since our favorite co-eds are unable to get in without VIP-access, they must leave it up to Clayface. However, after giving up on waiting for Stephanie’s return, Harley knocks out the bouncer and breaks into the VIP section.
This is where they discover the power behind the electricity: kidnapped students running hamster wheels. Unfortunately, they don’t have long before Riddler forces them to have that same fate.
Thankfully, Babs arrives and after failed shooting attempts, manages to free Harley, Poison Ivy, and Clayface. Our college escapades end with a fight scene, and Harley Quinn taking off with a knocked-out Riddler.
All puzzles are solved for the gang as Riddler is now running the hamster wheel and providing power for their hang-out. Doctor Psycho and King Shark also return with the water filter, which is now absolutely unnecessary thanks to the running power. Plus, Barbara Gordon has officially sewn up her Batgirl costume and is ready to take on the role of Gotham’s hero.
