The slasher anthology horror series aptly titled Slasher is on the move yet again! Slasher Season 4 will air on Shudder.

Slasher is a Canadian horror anthology series that initially kicked off on the Chiller channel with Katie McGrath in the lead role. For Season 2-3, the show transitioned to Netflix. But there hasn’t been any news since summer 2018, until now. Shudder has ordered Slasher Season 4, an eight-episode series officially titled Slasher: Flesh and Blood.

It feels ironic that a show about slashers and serial killers should continue to be revived on different services, but I’m not complaining. It’s a fun show and since Netflix never officially canceled or renewed it, Slasher has been in limbo for more than two years now. Shudder seems like the perfect new home.

According to the official press release, Slasher: Flesh and Blood will stream exclusively on Shudder, although it’s not yet clear if the horror streaming service will get the licensing for the previous three seasons.

What we know about Slasher Season 4 so far

The new season will focus on a “wealthy but dysfunctional family” who travel to a secluded island in the middle of nowhere to meet up for a family reunion. As reunions so often do, it gets out of hand quickly when old wounds are reopened and the family discovers that a masked killer is stalking them, killing them off one by one.

As for who will star in the next iteration of Slasher, horror icon David Cronenberg of The Fly fame has joined the cast along with several characters from the past three seasons, who will take on new roles, including Paula Brancati, Jefferson Brown, Sabrina Grdevich, Christopher Jacot and Patrice Goodman. Newcomers include Jeananne Goosen, Sydney Meyer, Alex Ozerov and Rachael Crawford.

“The Slasher series overdelivers on good old-fashioned gore, horror and fun with fast pacing and exceptional casting. We are very excited to throw our support behind the series and resurrect it for another bone-chilling season,” said David Kines, President Hollywood Suite.
