Variety reported that Fee would play a character named Kazi. It seems likely that the character is mercenary Clown Kazimierz Kazimierczak from the comics. Dalton has been cast as Jack Duquesne, likely a version of Swordsman who became a mentor to Hawkeye and has been both a hero and a villain. It’s not clear which direction his character will go in the series.
Finally, newcomer Cox will portray Maya Lopez, the real name of the Marvel hero Echo — a deaf Native American who excels at perfectly mimicking movements. Hawkeye will be her onscreen debut. McClarnon has been cast as William Lopez, likely Maya’s father Willie “Crazy Horse” Lincoln from the comics.
Variety was also the first publication to exclusively report Steinfeld’s role in the cast, which has not been officially confirmed by Marvel or Disney. However, photos recently surfaced of her on set with star Jeremy Renner, seemingly officially confirming her role as Kate.
Hawkeye does not yet have a premiere date but is one of several upcoming Marvel projects in the works at Disney Plus. The first series, WandaVision, will finally make its debut in January.
