A Million Little Things Season 3, Episode 3: Is Eddie going to relapse?
By Ariba Bhuvad
The most recent episode of A Million Little Things Season 3 spells trouble for Eddie as he veers dangerously towards a relapse.
Things aren’t looking too great for Eddie (David Giuntoli) after this week’s gut-wrenching episode of A Million Little Things Season 3. As we’ve come to see so far this season, Eddie’s accident has rendered him unable to walk on his own, a consequence he has been more than willing to suffer.
It sounds heartbreaking to think that he feels he deserves what’s happened to him, but up until this episode, Eddie has believed he was the reason behind his friend Alex’s death. After all, he was led to believe as such by Alex’s father and sister.
Unfortunately, this was far from the truth after Alex’s father reveals to Eddie that Alex had overdosed that fateful night. It was not Eddie’s fault because he had passed out drunk that night, and during his blackout, Alex’s father had to rearrange her death so as to hide the truth from his wife.

I actually did not see this twist coming and granted A Million Little Things Season 3 had set it up for us to believe that Alex’s father had hit Eddie out of revenge, we learn this was not the case.
In fact, he had been following Eddie all this time to come clean and confess, and whoever actually hit Eddie remains a mystery.
This entire ordeal in the episode resulted in Eddie taking his pain medication at the end of the episode, something he was refusing to do out of fear for his addiction. And this is where things are bound to get a bit chaotic for Eddie and his entire family.
Given that A Million Little Things Season 3 has just begun, we can take this as a sign that Eddie’s minor relapse is about to turn into something much more complicated and perhaps initiate a downfall that will reverberate through the season.
It is devastating a bit given that Eddie had just begun to patch things up with Katherine (Grace Park), and find a new normal between his family and Delilah’s (Stephanie Szostak). But with a new wrench thrown into the works, we’re about to see this season take a turn for the worst.
I’m nervous to see what Eddie’s path is going to be because his past is an indication that when he is in the throes of addiction, everyone and everything around him suffers as well. Could this be the last straw for his and Katherine’s relationship? And how will it affect Theo (Tristan Byon)? The kid is a trooper and been so strong through so much, but watching Eddie fall apart could prove to be disastrous.
Taking those pills may just be step one of many that take Eddie through a full-blown relapse, but I’m going to hold out hope that its a one and done deal. However, what he’s just learned has been a longtime battle, and perhaps his reason for becoming a drunk in the first place, so it may not be as simple as we’d like for him.
We’ll have to tune into the rest of A Million Little Things Season 3 to see where Eddie ends up, but I’m crossing my fingers for a happy ending.
