Several Disney Plus Star Wars shows receive Saturn Awards nominations
Star Wars is making its mark for this year’s Saturn Awards. Several Disney Plus Star Wars shows and series aired, and several have been nominated for awards.

Andor, The Mandalorian, and Star Wars: The Bad Batch have all received nominations, with a total of 9.
The Disney Plus Star Wars nominations are as follows:
- Best Science Fiction Television Series – Andor, The Mandalorian
- Best Animated Television Series or Special – Star Wars: The Bad Batch
- Best New Genre Television Series – Andor
- Best Actor in a Television Series – Diego Luna, Andor
- Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series – Genevieve O’Reilly, Andor, Katee Sackhoff, The Mandalorian
- Best Guest Star in a Television Series – Giancarlo Esposito, The Mandalorian, Andy Serkis, Andor
Andor, which aired in September 2022, told the story of Cassian Andor before the events of Star Wars: Rogue One. What starts as a mission to find his sister, leads him, his friends and family to become a main target of The Empire.
Will a Disney Plus Star Wars show win any Saturn Awards?
At the same time, the show reveals how Mon Mothma, leader of the Galactic Senate’s Loyalist faction, juggles both her rather unhappy life with her family, while funding the resistance against The Empire. And that’s still not even half the story.
The Mandalorian returned for season 3 in March of this year, continuing the story of Mando Din Djarin and the adorable Grogu. This season focused heavily on the Mandalorians and their mission to reunite and finally return home.
In the process Din and Bo-Katan learn more about themselves and the universe, wrapping up the season in practically a neat little bow. Last but not least, Star Wars: The Bad Batch aired season 2 in January of this year and will be renewed for one final season.
The return of the Bad Batch from The Clone Wars meant the continuing story, beginning with the theft of Count Dooku’s war chest. The season sadly ends with a most heroic sacrifice and epic reveal.
All three Star Wars shows are up against heavy hitter nominees from such television shows as Outlander, The Last of Us, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and Foundation. We wish all the nominees the best of luck and we look forward to learning who the winners will be!
