After over one year of waiting for new episodes, it's finally time for The Gilded Age season 4 to make its premiere on HBO and HBO Max. The Emmy Award-nominated historical drama series found its most success to date in its previous season, which means we should buckle up for what's sure to be one of the best and most talked about seasons of the show yet.
When we last caught up with the extensive ensemble of characters last summer, The Gilded Age ended with quite the bang in the season 3 finale. George was left fighting for his life in a tough and go emergency surgery following his near-fatal shooting. But the experience doesn't change matters in his marriage, as he informs Bertha that they are to remain separated.
We're going into The Gilded Age season 4 riddled in drama at the Russell house, though there's so much excitement to look forward to, like Gladys becoming a mother, Peggy and William getting married, Marian and Larry rekindling their romance, and more. But when can fans start watching the new episodes? Below we're sharing what to know before tuning into the premiere!

The Gilded Age season 4 episode release times and schedule
If you haven't had your calendars marked and your reminders set, The Gilded Age season 4 premieres on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026 on HBO and HBO Max. Each episode airs at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and releases on HBO Max at 9 p.m. ET. While the series has a set release time per coast on the linear cable network, the episodes release at the same time on the streaming service.
Because this isn't a streaming original series, the entire eight-episode season won't be available to stream all at once. The episodes will be released weekly on Sunday nights, bringing back our beloved HBO Sundays with a show everyone will be discussing and meme-ing as soon as the new episodes air. In that sense, make sure to steer clear of spoilers each week on social media.
Take a closer look at the full release schedule for The Gilded Age season 4 below:
- Episode 1 — Sunday, November 1, 2026
- Episode 2 — Sunday, November 8, 2026
- Episode 3 — Sunday, November 15, 2026
- Episode 4 — Sunday, November 22, 2026
- Episode 5 — Sunday, November 29, 2026
- Episode 6 — Sunday, December 6, 2026
- Episode 7 — Sunday, December 13, 2026
- Episode 8 — Sunday, December 20, 2026
As much as we'd like to binge-watch all of the episodes at once, the weekly release will be more than worth it. However, you can still allow the episodes to pile up in order to watch more than one at a time. But that won't be nearly as fun as watching week to week with the rest of the fans and laughing at the memes shared within the fan community on social media.
For a taste of what's to come, here's the official season 4 synopsis: "Bertha Russell changed Society at a cost. Now, her family must reckon with the consequences as Agnes van Rhijn seizes an opportunity to regain her position. Meanwhile, Marian forges a new path for herself, and Peggy works to be accepted by her future in-laws. In this new era, you must be careful what you wish for."
The Gilded Age season 4 premieres on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and also streaming on HBO Max. Check out the official trailer before watching the premiere episode!
