The second season of the hit HBO series True Detective is right around the corner — or is it? There has been a lot said about the second season in recent weeks but so far production on the new episodes has failed to take place. That’s troubling to fans wondering when to expect new episodes of the show and when to start getting excited about the new season of the series.

Production was supposed to start in September, but that never ended up happening. It was then pushed back to the start of October but we’re now almost halfway through the month and cameras have not begun to roll.

To be fair though, we have gotten a plethora of information about the series as the cast has finally been chosen. Not only that, the first director has been chosen and more details about the characters and plot have been revealed by HBO meaning they’re trying to keep fan engagement high.

That’s hard to do without any footage though, as the series is seemingly dragging their feet when it comes to getting something done or getting production started. This can’t be deliberate, as the show is one of the most popular on television and there is no reason to mess with that.

Still, we have no footage and it’s almost a month and a half past when we were supposed to start seeing something which will only be further frustration for fans wanting to see something.
