This isn’t anew question but it’s got the same old tried answer nevertheless. Frankly put, no one has any idea when the new season will be premiering. It’s sad, but that’s the position that True Detective fans are in at the moment.
As pointed out by Mashable, its’ starting to to like rue detective won’t even meets it’s summer premiere date projection ,let alone whatever glib hope we had or January.
"Even if Pizzolatto was able to button up the last four or five episodes over the past few months, it’s not like cameras can just roll when the last draft comes off the printer. Besides all the planning that goes into shooting an episode, we all know that those scripts will be exhaustingly scrutinized for the slightest hint of plagiarism."
It may be a case where the show misses all of its projected 2015 premiere dates and just waits until 2016 to come out with a new season. That’s a risky move and it smacks of incompetence at the moment, but that’s starting to look like a serious reality moving forward.
