True Detective gets awesome Law and Order credits mashup (Video)

The popularity of the hit HBO series True Detective has led to a string of parodies being made, and we’re getting our fair share of video mashups with some standing out above the rest.

One particular parody that stands out is the Batman mashup, which clearly saw a lot of work put into it, but right up there with it is this Law & Order mashup. What do you get when you take the conic Law & Order credit sequence and lay it over True Detective?

You get this:

The mashup not only shows the power and legacy of the both True Detective and Law & Order but it just seems to work really well too. Obviously, the tone of both shows are wildly different, but it’s also hard not to tip the cap to Law & Order when dealing with a police procedural series that is breaking new ground.

Fans are waiting anxiously for the next season of True Detective and while the cast from this most recent season will be gone, the prospect of more True Detective is too attractive to not get excited about. Plus, in the meantime we have plenty of free time to take in awesome video mashups like this one, or even make some of our own.
