The second season of the hit HBO series True Detective is right around the corner, and it we’re learning more and more about the new characters who could be added.

True Detective seems to be growing its cast as we sit in a production lull at the moment. This week brought news that the cast of the show could be expanding with two more female characters, and more is becoming known about those new additions.

According to Deadline, the two new True Detective characters already have outlines that are leaking into the public.

"Reilly would play the self-possessed Morgan. Irby is poised to play McAdams’ partner, now named Elvis. Rambin would likely play Sophia, a beauty with a history of drug problems, while Spencer is in line to portray Alicia, the survivor of a sexual attack."

They won’t be lead female characters, but so far the number of actresses on the show outweighs the number of actors. That’s good to hear after a first season that saw the female characters get under written, but it’s further proof that we may not be close at all to production starting on the new season of the show — at least, not for a while anyways.
