True Detective Couple Use Yellow King Victim In Halloween Costume
By Josh Hill
The hit HBO series True Detective was a smash at Halloween this year, with one couple going above and beyond to get creative and unique with their costume.
There was something creepy about the first season of the HBO series True Detective, and that’s what made the show such a smash hit this Halloween. Fans came out in droves dressed up as Matthew McConaughey’s character Rust Cohle, with some people even double dipping to portray 1995 Rust and present day Rust.

Not everyone went with the obvious choice for their costume though, as some fans decided to get creative with how they approached their True Detective costume this year.
One couple decided to go above and beyond with their costume, as they took what everyone else was doing and put a twist on it. Rather than dress up as two different versions of Rust, this costume involved the Yellow King element into things and the result was creepy brilliance.
This shows the creepy side of the show in a classic Halloween sort of way. While the Rust Cohle element is represented, the addition of the first victim they came across in 1995 is a chilling touch. It embraces both the Halloween spirit and reminds us that the show was about more than just Matthew McConaughey drinking Lone Star Beer the whole time.
Kudos to this couple for creativity and here’s to hoping for more of this next year when Halloween rolls around again.
