True Detective star Woody Harrelson will be hosting Saturday Night Live later this month, which begs the question of if he’ll bring along Matthew McConaughey for some cameo help.

When stars host SNL, they usually bring along some help to spice up the night which is something True Detective fans are going to wonder about as the hosting duties of Woody Harrelson approach. SNL announced that Harrelson will host an episode of the show in November with musical guest Kendrick Lamar to promote Harrelson’s new film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I.

While we can expect True Detective to get parodied while Harrelson is there, the question is will Matthew McConaughey come in and provide some cameo help.

Actors pop up all the time for cameo help, as we saw it almost every episode last year. From Will Ferrell showing up to promote Anchorman 2 with Paul Rudd, to Leonardo DiCaprio re-enacting his classic Titanic scene with Jonah Hill to promote The Wolf of Wall Street cameos are common place on SNL.

Besides being on True Detective together, Harrelson and McConaughey are friends off the screen, making it even more likely that he’ll show up to help out for a little bit on SNL. McConaughey also has Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar to promote which means his showing up is something we would be disappointed to not see.

We will find out when Woody Harrelson hosts SNL later this month.
