True Detective is trying to roll along with it’s second season, but so far things have been slow which hasn’t stopped Matthew McConughey from praising the series.

With the second season of True Detective seemingly stalled, there are a lot of questions and doubts about how things will go moving forward.

One person who isn’t fretting about the new season is a guy who almost won an Emmy for the first season — Matthew McConaughey.

In an interview with IGN to promote Interstellar, McConaughey both reflected on his time on True Detective and predicted what would happen on the second season of the show — from a cast point of view.

"“I’ve very confident they’re going to have great words to say,” he explained. “In Nic Pizzolatto, the creator and writer, you have a great resource to go and just understand what the hell you are saying. And that did a lot for me to give me the identity of Rust Cohle. And Nick writes with such clarity and identity that there’s no room for attitude. He writes real men that own what they’re saying. No one apologises. Be different, not sorry!”"

It’s clear that there is a lot of anticipation about the new season of the show, but at the end of the day patience is the only thing fans of the series can express. McConaughey has nothing riding on the second season except a bigger love for his season if the new one isn’t good. Still, he knows the process and if he’s not fretting then no one should.
