Report: Riley Smith Joins True Detective Season Two
It looks like True Detective just added another face to its (apparently) still growing roster. Deadline is reporting that Riley Smith has just joined up with True Detective, making this the second casting decision in two weeks. Smith has starred in a wide variety of television as recurring characters and one-offs, with HBO’s True Blood being his most recent role.

True Detective might just give Smith the boost he needs to break out. It wouldn’t be the first time that the series gave a bump to one of its actors.
Deadline is also reporting that Smith will play Rachel McAdam’s boyfriend, a sherif’s Deputy. McAdams still hasn’t been publicly confirmed for True Detective, so take that for what it is.
Are you a fan of Riley Smith? He is relatively unknown and it’s nice whenever a non A-lister comes up as a casting choice for True Detective. It’s not all about that star power, after all.
