Report: True Detective Nominated for PGA Award
Even though True Detective’s first season ended some time ago and award season is generally considered to be over, that hasn’t stopped True Detective from earning further accolades. The Producer’s Guild has announced their nominee list which includes documentaries and televisions dramas, among others. True Detective is officially nominated under the drama category, which Breaking Bad has previously won.

True Detective is gong up against the usual drama suspects, including Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, and House of Cards. Breaking Bad has done very well for itself this year going on the strength of its final season. It would be something of a shock if it didn’t take the PGA again this year.
This has been an interesting year for True Detective. Award nominations, spoofs, and glowing reviews poured in but it’s tough to go up against Breaking Bad. True Detective will have a better chance next year when Breaking Bad is officially out of the running, but it’s too early to say whether the first season will be able to tap into the same cultural vein as the first has.
