Report: True Detective up for Two WGA Awards
Hot on the heels of True Detective’s nomination for a PGA award, we have news of a further potential award in the pipeline: The Writers Guild. The WGA have recently announced their nominees for their 2015 ceremony, and True Detective are up their with the best.
True Detective is up in two categories: Drama Series and New Series. The usual suspects are also present, including Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Mad Men, and The Good Wife. The competition is fairly stiff.

True Detective might have better luck in the New Series category which features a mix of both comedy and drama, including The Affair, The Knick, Silicon Valley, and Transparent. It’s interesting to have drama and comedy directly competing, but True Detective shines a little brighter here.
Unfortunately True Detective didn’t score any nods in the Episodic Drama category, but we’ll take whatever we can get. We’ll see how it all shakes out on February 15th, when the award ceremony is set to take place. You can check out HitFix for a full list of nominees.
