This Week in True Detective is a feature that aims to bring you the best True Detective happenings of the week. This could include breaking news, popular articles, or anything else that people found interesting or may have missed. Now on Saturday!

This week was another slow week in terms of official news, so don’t expect to find a premier date or any other juicy bit of info in this edition of This Week in True Detective. Still, it was a Vince Vaughn heavy week as we caught up with a recent interview and talked about his recent box-office performance. If, however, you enjoy spoofs, we’ve got your back.

Let’s begin.

  • Vince Vaughn has been promoting his new film, Unfinished Business, but True Detective keeps managing to come up in his interviews. Although we didn’t learn much from his appearance on TODAY, a piece in Variety was a tad more eye-opening.
  • Speaking of Unfinished Business, Vince Vaughn’s newest comedy has been a total bomb both critically and commercially. Maybe Vince Vaughn could use some serious True Detective magic.
  • HBO finally announced its stand-alone streaming service, HBO Now. For a “premium” price everything HBO has to offer could be yours, but only if you’re an Apple user.
  • True Detective director Cary Fukunaga gave an update on his new adaptation of Stephen King’s IT, which has yet to find its insane killer clown.
  • Finally, we assembled a part 2 to our Top 5 Favorite True Detective Spoofs. Check it out!

And now you know everything that we know. Doesn’t that feel better? If you’re up to some interesting True Detective activities this weekend or just want to chat, you can find us on Facebook and Twitter.
