Matthew McConaughey and Jimmy Kimmel Help a Small Business (Video)

Matthew McConaughey’s True Detective days are behind him, but he’s more of a hot commodity now than he ever was. And that can lead to him showing up in some pretty unique places. Cue Jimmy Kimmel, who filmed his show down in Austin in celebration of the South by Southwest festival.

Kimmel decided to help out a local business while he was down there, and ended up with Vulcan Video, a video rental store that still carries VHS. Kimmel enlisted Matthew McConaughey to help him create three commercials for the store, and the results are very much worth seeing.

McConaughey lives in Austin, so it wasn’t so much of a stretch for him to make an appearance.

What we have here is more Matthew McConaughey of the Wolf on Wall Street variety and less of the True Detective and Interstellar kind. It’s certainly not the version of Matthew McConaughey that’s been appearing in those Lincoln commercials.

Jimmy Kimmel and Matthew McConaughey seemed in high spirits, and McConaughey even poked fun at himself for some questionable roles earlier in his career. McConaughey’s still sporting that beard though, in case you were hoping that would be gone by now.
