Report: HBO Now is Available
We’ve been talking about HBO Now for the past few months, but it’s finally here. HBO’s answer to cord-cutters launched today for a premium price of $14.99. For those that have been looking for a way to view HBO’s shows — legally, that is — without an expensive cable subscription, HBO Now was sculpted with you in mind.

HBO Now doesn’t come cheap, of course, so cord-cutters fans of True Detective and other HBO shows are going to have to think hard if it’s really worth it. For right now, you’ll need an Apple device to take advantage of the service. An Apple TV, iPhone, or any other Apple device is compatible with the new app and service.
For those without Apple devices, HBO Now is only a timed-Apple exclusive. The new service is also available to use on both PC and Mac computers. According to the official HBO Now site, a 30-day trial is included if you sign up in April.
Just as HBO announced, HBO Now has launched in time for the fifth season premiere of Game of Thrones. It will be interesting to see what the HBO Now ratings will be like for the premiere, if HBO decides to release them at all.
In other news, True Detective is still on-board for a summer premiere as far as anyone is concerned. For the True Detective cord-cutters out there, will you be watching the second season through HBO Now?
