Vince Vaughn in True Detective’s First Season (Pic)
No, Vince Vaughn was not in the first season of True Detective nor do we currently posses the technology for the reality altering device that would make such a thing possible. But since we don’t yet know what the opening credits for True Detective’s second season will look like, viewing the future though the lens of the past is a fine idea.

We’ve been rooting for Vince Vaughn since he was first announced, and if the teaser is anything to go on he turns in quite the performance. The kind of performance that people will be talking about, especially for someone who is primarily known as a comedic actor.
The DeviantArt user error-23 captures Vince Vaughn’s tortured look from True Detective season two’s teaser and places it within the context of the first season. You can see the expertly done work above.
And by now, we should all know exactly what look that is. All four of the True Detective leads are noteworthy in the teaser, but it’s Vince Vaughn that steals the show. If a minute long clip can even be considered to be something that can be stolen, that is.
Fanart like this functions as a tribute to both True Detective’s past and its future. It’s a great way to let go of the first season’s setting, characters, and story, and to start embracing what season two has in store for us. The season hasn’t even started yet but we’re already starting to see spoofs and tributes come in, not to mention the spoofs that we’re still seeing from the first season.
For a show that’s only been on for a single season so far for a grand total of eight episodes, it’s astounding how True Detective has been able to light such a creative fire in the fanbase. It’s something that never ceases to impress us.
