HBO’s crackdown continued through “The House of Black and White,” the second episode of the fifth season of Game of Thrones.

On the heels of sending notices to VPN pirates and those using HBO Now outside of the United States, HBO contacted internet service providers, who then sent out warning to those who illegally downloaded the leaked versions of the first four episodes of Season 5 of Games of Thrones, according to TorrentFreak.com.

Users of BitTorrent were sent this warning from their internet service provider (via Huffington Post):

"Just got the following in an email from my ISP Bell Canada. Someone in the apartment downloaded it.————- Infringement Details ———————————-Title: Game of Thrones Timestamp: 2015-04-12-ANONYMIZEDIP Address: minePort: 51413Type: BitTorrent Torrent Hash: 008b8e8633010064ddbd78609002e5895a18ca64Filename: Game of Thrones S05E01 WEBRip XviD-FUM[ettv]Filesize: 424 MB –"

The four episodes leaked were screener copies sent to people in the media to review the episodes before they are released on HBO.

In addition to the piracy notices, HBO also asked a Brooklyn bar to stop holding Game of Thrones viewing parties, according to TIME.

It makes sense for HBO to track down pirates and stop them from using the service. For one, people are paying at least $15 per month for their service, sometimes more. And two, these TV shows, Game of Thrones,in particular, are a very expensive.

While I wish great TV could be available for everyone, a price must be paid. That’s just common sense.
