Vince Vaughn now has the Key to Nashville
Vince Vaughn will be taking the first dramatic acting turn in some time as Frank Semyon in True Detective’s second season, but his comedic past is largely what he’s known for. In celebrating his past, and his presidency of Wild West Productions, that earned Vaughn the key to Nashville.

Vince Vaughn is at least partially responsible for brining the Wild West Comedy Festival to Nashville, which helped revitalize the local economy and bring more attention to the city.
The Wild West Comedy Festival doesn’t feature a performance from Vince Vaughn himself — he’s not known for standup — but does attract comedians like Hannibal Buress and Lewis Black.
Vince Vaughn’s acting roots are actually in drama, which is a fact that he went over during the press tour for Unfinished Business. We’ve been getting the feeling that Vaughn is ready to return to those dramatic roots, not only through True Detective but in future films as well.
We recently got a chance to see what a dramatic Vince Vaughn looks like in True Detective’s first teaser trailer, which featured some great shots of Vaughn in action. True Detective will feature four compelling leads, but it’s difficult to argue that Vince Vaughn isn’t the focus of attention.
All eyes will be on him in True Detective and on what he decides to do in the future.
