Brothers In Atlanta, a new comedy created by two former Late Night with Jimmy Fallon writers, Bashir Salahuddin and Diallo Riddle, is the latest show to get an HBO series order, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Riddle and Salahuddin will also star in and executive produce Brothers In Atlanta. Deadline is reporting the series is about two dudes, Langston (Riddle), a D.J., and Moose, a backup singer, who are struggling to make it in Atlanta. Sounds pretty cool, right?

Well, what if I told you Maya Rudolph and Jaden Smith will also be recurring guest stars in the series, would that make it even better?

The answer is “DUH,” and the question is real!

According to Deadline, Smith and Rudolph, who appeared in the pilot, will also be back for the first season, which begins production this spring.

Tim Story will be directing the series, via Deadline, and that is incredibly exciting if you’re a fan of Story’s work. He’s best known for directing Barbershop, Taxi, and Fantastic Four. Recently, he directed Ride Along and Think Like a Man Too.

Lorne Michaels, the head honcho over at Saturday Night Live, is also an executive producer of the series.

I’ll admit I’m not that familiar with the work of Riddle and Salahuddin, but from the sound of it, Brothers In Atlanta sounds awesome. I can’t imagine this series being bad, based on who is involved.

Best case scenario: Riddle and Salahuddin capture that lightning in a bottle from a show like Broad City, which has a similar premise, and build on that “duo against the world” comedy.
