Watch this Excellent True Detective Season One Fan-made Trailer (Video)
We’re getting closer and closer to the premiere of True Detective’s second season with the passing of everyday, but that doesn’t mean that fans are quite finished with the first. We’ve seen some great fan-made spoofs and tributes of both the first and second season of True Detective.
Which is especially impressive when you consider that we’ve only had a single minute of True Detective season two footage to go on.

YouTube user Nihil has looked back to True Detective’s beginnings to create an excellent trailer for the season which might actually be better than HBO’s own offering.
The clip, which you can check out below, features a haunting rending of Nick Cave’s “Red Right Hand” as sung by PJ Harvey. In case you were wondering, it fits perfectly.
This fan clip accurately captures the sense of dread that permeates True Detective’s first season possibly better than any other trailer before it has. Not to mention the fact that it ends perfectly on a Rust Cohle line, but we won’t spoil it for you here.
True Detective has inspired some great fan work. There was some worry that fan interest would fade over time, but there certainly isn’t any evidence of that. We’re excited to see what the fans can come up with when the second season of True Detective finally makes its debut in June.
Next: True Detective season 2 may have no references to other work. We think.
