True Detective Seasons One and Two Meet (Video)

It’s becoming painfully obvious in the best way that fans of True Detective are hungry for more content. It feels as if there are a huge amount of spoofs and other fan-made clips that are dying to be made — they just need more from True Detective season two to help them come to fruition.

Since True Detective will premiere on June 21st, said creative fans won’t have to wait too much longer.

But that doesn’t really mean anything for the here and now. YouTube user Nihil — the same that brought us the great re-cut of True Detective’s first season trailer — is back again with a first season trailer done in the style of the second.

Obviously he’s gone mad, but as long as we’re reaping the benefits it’s all good.

The clip, which you can watch below, features fan-favorite heroes Rust and Marty paired with the Lera Lynn music from True Detective’s second season teaser. As we’ve now come to expect, it’s done quite well. It’s all very meta, don’t you know.

Hopefully this will pave the way for a great spoof in which our heroes from True Detective season one meet those from season two. Only hilarity can ensue, right? Well, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for that one, but you can enjoy this fan-clip right now.

Sidenote: We’re going to really miss using this image of Marty in that rocking’ Pink Floyd shirt. Ahh, well.
