Cary Fukunaga has his Killer Clown
If you didn’t know by now, True Detective director Cary Fukunaga has been wanting to re-make Stephen King’s IT for a long time. This new version is set to be two films and should begin filming this summer. But filming would be pretty difficult if you didn’t have the main antagonist, in this case a psychotic, demonic killer clown.

You know, previously played by Tim Curry.
Luckily Cary Fukunaga has just solved this problem by finally finding a suitable Pennywise. As reported by Variety, Will Poulter will have the honors of tormenting a group of children into adulthood.
Poulter previously appeared in The Maze Runner, so IT will hopefully prove to be his breakout role.
Will Poulter apparently won over Fukunaga in audtion. The director was previously considering Mark Rylance from Wolf Hall and Ben Mendelsohn from Netflix’s Bloodline. As an Executive Producer on True Detective’s second season Cary Fukunaga has a lot of time to work on his own projects.
Cary Fukunaga has been so hot as of late it feels as if he’s poised to become a major Hollywood player. His name isn’t exactly well-known yet, but it’s only inevitable if this continues. Especially if his version of IT is a success, as the aforementioned Tim Curry version was only a mini-series.
We’ll be waiting.
Next: Christopher Nolan wasn't sure about Matthew McConaughey doing TV.
