The Brink Official Trailer Released by HBO

Well, I think I just found my new favorite TV show! And, I haven’t even seen an episode yet!

HBO just released the trailer for the new HBO comedy series The Brink starring Jack Black and Tim Robbins.

Needless to say, it looks off-the-charts funny!

Take a peek, courtesy of HBO’s YouTube Channel:

If you couldn’t conclude from the trailer, the title “The Brink” is a reference to the world being on “the brink” of World War III because of the growing unrest in the Middle East and America’s handling of that situation.

Here’s the official synopsis from HBO:

"A new half-hour dark comedy series, The Brink focuses on a geopolitical crisis and its effect on three disparate and desperate men: Walter Larson (played by Tim Robbins), the US Secretary of State; Alex Talbot (Jack Black), a lowly Foreign Service officer; and Zeke Tilson (Pablo Schreiber), an ace Navy fighter pilot. These three compromised souls must pull through the chaos around them to save the planet from World War Three."

You can’t tell me that doesn’t look and sound awesome! In addition to Black, Robbns, and Schreiber, Aasif Mandvi, Carla Gugino, Eric Ladin, and Maribeth Monroe also play important roles in The Brink, according to HBO.

The Brink was created by brothers, Roberto and Kim Benabib. Roberto was a writer for Showtime’s Weeds a few short years ago. The Brink is Kim’s film and TV debut!

Congrats, Kim!

According to HBO, the Benabib brothers will also exec produce the series, along with Jay Roach and Jerry Weintraub. Roach also directed the pilot. In addition to starring in the series, Tim Robbins, Jack Black, and Aasif Mandvi will produce The Brink.

The Brink premieres at 10:30 p.m. on June 21, following True Detective: Season 2 on HBO, HBO Go, and HBO Now.

If you missed the first teaser for the series, be sure to check out the video below also! It might even be better than the official trailer for The Brink.
