In reality it’s usually the month that networks test out shows that may not do as well during the normal television season. True Detective isn’t necessarily in that boat, but it will be interesting to see if the move does anything to the ratings.

Though since the second season of True Detective is practically a different show, that may be difficult to quantify.

Moving on.

The Daily Beast has put together a list of 35 shows that will be airing this season that are “must see,” and True Detective takes a spot. As do many other dramas, such as NBC’s fantastic Hannibal, and the David Duchovny-starring Acquaris. Summer is shaping up to be a very interesting season for TV.

The second season of True Detective falls at number 13, sandwiched between HBO’s new political comedy The Brink and USA’s Mr. Robot. The list is officially unranked, so thirteenth place is as good as any other. The expectations for True Detective’s second season is sky-high, and it could turn out to be the show of the summer.

The television season of summer 2015 could go down as being one of the most exciting summer’s in TV history. Even with the end of Mad Men, the golden age shows no signs of slowing down.
