HITFIX Also Thinks True Detective is Worth Watching this Summer
The second season of True Detective will premiere on June 21st, and will join a surprisingly crowded summer season. But even though HBO hasn’t gone all-out when it comes to marketing True Detective, anticipation is approaching Sky High. Going by the season two trailers we’ve seen so far, it’s well deserved.

True Detective season two already ended up on one “must see” list for the summer season, but now it has graced another. HITFIX published their own list of the best returning shows, and True Detective makes the cut.
The list isn’t split into categories, so True Detective rubs shoulder to shoulder with other fare such as So You Think You Can Dance.
True Detective season two comes in at number five, snuggled between Orange is the New Black and Big Brother. Other notable shows that make the list include Hannibal (which is quickly growing into a fine True Detective competitor,) and Showtime’s Masters of Sex.
And don’t forget, Hannibal will also features a True Detective alum.
Expect more of these lists to roll in as we inch closer to the summer television season, which has perhaps never been this formidable. The hype for True Detective’s second outing is serious, make no mistake. A stronger second season will hopefully go a long way to winning some awards, but after season one’s performance we’re hesitant to even bring it up.
