We’re very close to the season two premiere of True Detective, and that also means that its prime gossip time. To complicate matters, or perhaps simplify them depending on your point of view, Gossip Cop is reporting these rumors as false. Now, this is the sort of story that reeks of typical Hollywood gossip; unsubstantiated rumors disproven by mysterious sources.
Apparently, the original rumor said that Taylor Kitsch was referring to Vince Vaughn as “Old School,” in an unflattering way. There may actually be a kernel of truth somewhere in this story, which is why we’re marking the entire occurrence as a rumor.
It’s the first rumor of its kind that we’ve heard from the second season of True Detective. Considering the talent involved and the spotlight on True Detective, it’s likely that it won’t be the last. Whether this particular rumor is true doesn’t particularly matter.
What does matter is that it’s likely a start to the rumor-mill, which has been dormant for a long time.
