Watch the New Ballers Trailer Starring Dwayne Johnson
By Bryce Olin
HBO released the new trailer for their upcoming series Ballers starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and it looks even better than the first one.
Take a look for yourself!
The similarities between Ballers and HBO series Entourage are, basically, infinite. Honestly, Ballers looks like the pro athlete version of Entourage, which is definitely not a bad thing. Although many people mock Entourage for being too bro-y, the series has been wildly successful. It ran on HBO for eight seasons, and it still had enough fan interest for an Entourage movie, which is going to be released in theaters this week.

Entourage was produced by Mark Wahlberg and Steve Levinson, and it just so happens that Levinson created Ballers, and he and Wahlberg will also act as executive producers for Ballers, along with Dwayne Johnson, Peter Berg, and Evan Reilly.
Personally, I think Ballers looks okay, a good-not-great series, if you will. But, HBO is incredibly smart in trying tap into that fan base that no one else has been able find since Entourage went off the air.
On top of that, Dwayne Johnson is one of the biggest stars in the world right now, and he’s actually a really good actor, despite being type-cast for a lot his roles. This role was made for him, and I think he’s really going to be great.
Ballers premieres on June 21 after the True Detective Season 2 premiere.
