Watch True Detective Season Two’s Fourth Trailer (Video)
The advertising campaign for True Detective season two has been puzzling, to say the least. True Detective is arguably one of HBO’s biggest shows, if only because of the actors it has managed to attract. And yet HBO has chosen not to go all out with True Detective’s promotion, instead choosing to release trailers and posters on the internet and at their leisure.

Something about it does fit with True Detective’s secretive nature, but that doesn’t make it any less frustrating for fans. Over the weekend, HBO stealthily dropped two new True Detective trailers. You can see the first one here, and the second below.
HBO is relying on fans and media to spread the word about True Detective, instead of a more conventional campaign. With such huge stars attached to season two coupled with the first season’s critical acclaim, HBO barely has to do anything to make sure people tune into True Detective at the end of June.
And we can’t say that it isn’t working.
In this new trailer, titled “Stand,” we get some more action shots and a mustache-less Colin Farrell. As per usual, all the characters have their pained faces on. It’s worth mentioning that this new trailer goes back to the dialogue-less days of trailer one.
Both this trailer and the one we covered yesterday come in at thirty seconds each, making them for teases than anything else. With a total of four trailers released so far, we’ve certainly gotten a good feel for True Detective’s second season.
But if you’re craving even more than what HBO has shown us so far, we encourage you to check out or season two rundown and the rumored plot leaks.
