Will the True Detective Opener be a Leonard Cohen Song?
It’s almost funny how many questions are still surrounding True Detective’s second season. But that’s how it goes when productions are this level of secretive. One of those remaining questions has to do with the opener song, which at one point was thought to be by Lera Lynn.

Apparently that’s not the case. Jeff Sneider poster on his personal Twitter account that the new song will be Leonard Cohen’s “Nevermind.” He also added that it lacks the punch of the True Detective’s first season opener, “Far From Any Road.”
Snedier is an entertainment reporter, so he is fairly reliable. Still, none of the reviews that we’ve seen so far for True Detective season two’s first three episodes mentioned anything about the opening song. Almost as if the rules of their reviews specifically forbid it.
True Detective is so secretive, that may have actually been the case.
It looks like this is all we’re going to have to go on until we watch the first episode of True Detective for ourselves. Or perhaps HBO will release one last trailer featuring the song, lending more weight to this assertion.
