You can now Listen to the full Lera Lynn True Detective Song (Video)
When the first trailer for season two of True Detective hit the scene a couple of months back, a new song debuted with it. At the time, there wasn’t much information to go except that it was by Lera Lynn. There was a bit of a to-do over some leaked information through tweets at the time, but HBO did a good job of keeping everything quiet.

The song hasn’t appeared in any other True Detective trailer, but you can now listen to the entire thing on YouTube. The song, “The Only Thing Worth Fighting For,” will apparently hold some significance in season two. T. Burnett let on as much during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.
The video was posted by True Detective’s Vevo account, which doesn’t have any other posts. If this is an official account, and there’s not really any reason to believe that it’s not, we may see more videos like this in the future.
It’s become obvious that HBO really wants to push this song and its association with True Detective. Considering that it doesn’t appear to be the opener for the season, the attention its getting is a little odd. It must be important in ways that have not yet become evident.
Season two of True Detective premiers this Sunday, but it will most likely be a while until we hear “The Only Thing Worth Fighting For” on the show.
