Watch True Detective’s Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn on Jimmy Fallon (Video)
The second season of True Detective hasn’t been doing so hot, review wise. Still, even though the early reviews aren’t what we had all hoped they would be, it doesn’t feel as if they have dampened fans’ excitement. Not that HBO or True Detective in general have been doing anything to shape or channel said excitement.

Well, that’s only half-true. Last night on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Colin Farrell made an appearance to play “True Confessions,” a game in which the players have to confess a “random fact.” Vince To make things all the better, Vince Vaughn joined in for a more complete True Detective experience.
The game itself has very little to do with True Detective, so there’s no need to worry about spoilers. Both Farrell and Vaughn have a lot of fun with it, with Vaughn really getting into the detective spirit. It’s also a great opportunity to learn some odd facts about the actors, such as Colin Farrell’s brush with the law as a murder suspect.
Bet you didn’t know that, eh?
True Detective is a very serious show, so it’s great to see some of the actors taking time to participate in something silly like this. It’s also great to see HBO promoting True Detective a little more than they’ve been doing. Hopefully we’ll get to see more appearances like this one, on late night shows or elsewhere.
And in case you’ve been living under a rock, True Detective season two beings this Sunday. We’ll be covering the season, so make sure to stick with us for more editorials and reviews. Oh, and we’ll also be live-tweeting the first episode!
