HBO: Watch Ballers or The Brink on Facebook

According to a CNBC report, you can now watch the first episode of two of HBO‘s newest shows, Ballers and The Brink, on Facebook.

This is a fairly new practice, according to the report, and HBO has never used Facebook as a place to stream a full episode of one of their shows. Depending on the results of this “trial, so to speak, HBO could do this for a lot of their new shows, which could be hugely beneficial for their streaming platform. According to the report, Facebook has 1.44 billion users. You can bet HBO wants to tap into that market.

Dwayne Johnson, who is both a star and executive producer of the series, has posted the first episode of Ballers on his Facebook page.

For The Brink, you can watch the first episode on their Facebook page.

Unfortunately, if you’re hooked, you’re going to have to subscribe to HBO or HBO Now to watch the rest of the series. Obviously, the idea is to promote their new shows and get people hooked, but it’s also a way to connect to new viewers for HBO. Maybe, some people can’t afford HBO or HBO Now, but by making the first episode available, someone might buy the season one DVD/Blu-Ray. That’s another win for HBO.

I’ve seen both Ballers and The Brink, and I was very impressed with each series. The Brink is a much better show than Ballers, but people love football and people love the luxurious lifestyle of pro athletes.

You can see for yourself, though!

Just in case you do have an HBO subscription or are going to get one, Ballers airs every Sunday at 10 p.m following True Detective. The Brink follows Ballers every Sunday at 10:30 p.m. on HBO, HBO Now, or HBO Go.
