Rumor: True Detective’s Rachel McAdams to Join Marvel?

Rachel McAdams is doing a seriously impressive job on True Detective. Much like Vince Vaughn, some thought that Rachel McAdams wouldn’t be able to cut it. Well, they were all wrong. And now apparently she’s looking to broaden her horizons even further by joining one of the biggest cinematic machines in existence.

According to Heroic Hollywood, Rachel McAdams is rumored to be joining the cast of Marvels’ Doctor Strange movie. That would be a major movie for McAdams and a definite statement that she’s ready to tackle something new. Doctor Strange would be Rachel McAdams’ first foray into the incredibly popular (and lucrative) world of superhero movies.

According to the rumor, Rachel McAdams has been offered the female lead. We don’t know more than that, but we certainly wouldn’t mind seeing McAdams in that context. Doctor Stranger won’t release until November of 2016, but we’ll know whether or not she’ll take the gig long before that.

Rachel McAdam’s latest non-True Detective venture, Aloha, saw her in the very familiar romantic comedy light. It was also completely panned. Vince Vaughn also suffered a similar fate with Unfinished Business. Hopefully True Detective will only be the first part in a career-reinvention similar to what Vince Vaughn seems to be doing.
