As Game of Thrones is a year-round production cycle, so is the news revolving around the series. Only days after announcing the show will run another three seasons, at least, news broke that Game of Thrones has already cast two new actors for Season 6.

In Season 6, Ian McShane, formerly of Deadwood, and Max von Sydow, best known for his role in The Exorcist, have been cast to play supporting characters, according to a report from Deadline Hollywood.

In the series, it’s been confirmed that Max von Sydow will play the Three-Eyed Raven in Season 6. That also means Bran Stark will be back with Hodor and the rest of his gang of misfits next season after sitting out all of Season 5.

As of right now, McShane’s role has not been formally announced, but after reading the books, I have several ideas of who McShane could be playing in Season 6. I’ll keep those to myself, but there have beens ome rumors about McShane possibly playing one of the older Greyjoys, Euron Greyjoy, in particular. Or, McShane could play Randyll Tarly, the father of Samwell Tarly a.k.a Sam the Slayer.

Although McShane’s role hasn’t been announced yet, I’m sure we’ll find out who he is playing shortly. It’s too hard to keep anything secret, and someone’s always going to talk. It’s just a matter of time.

At this time, we also don’t know when exactly Game of Thrones Season 6 will premiere on HBO, but like every other season, we can expect the series to return some time in spring 2016.
