Watch a Fan’s Animated Review of True Detective Season Two (Video)
The critics have made it clear how they feel about True Detective season two. That, however, doesn’t mean that there still isn’t plenty of room for individual fans to make their opinions known. The YouTube account SeasonedReviews specializes in delivering reviews of TV series in animated form. The latest series to get this treatment is True Detective. Like many others, the reviewer had plenty of problems with season two, ultimately giving it a C-. Though by his standards that qualifies as “okay.” We’re not going to lie, the accent definitely helps here.
The review only lasts a few minutes long, so it won’t take up too much of your time. The animation, while not exactly top-notch, is charming in an amateurish hand-drawn sort of way. The review highlights the slow pace and un-interesting characters as some of the main problems. The best part is the summation, which gets it just right: “yadda yadda noir gritty whatever.” Tough to argue with that.
As far as fan reviews go, this is by far the most interesting one we’ve come across if only because of its style. It’s not often one comes across an animated review. You can watch the clip below and then let us know if you agree or not.
