HBO Nabs Multiple SAG Award Nominations
By Julie Kelly
The SAG award nominations came out this morning, and HBO stands to win big.
HBO is certainly no stranger to award ceremonies; their shows tend to nab multiple nominations. It’s just one of those pre-determined things. It of course helps that their shows tend to be of a certain quality. 2016 looks to be another big year for HBO, if the SAG award nominations are anything to go on.

Not too shabby. It’s unfortunately not surprising that The Leftovers didn’t make it, even though the show has become a critical darling in its second season. Its ratings, however, have been plummeting, and its ultra-dark subject matter doesn’t do it any favors. Usually shows with great amounts of buzz make the nominations, and The Leftovers doesn’t have that.
Other nominated favorites include Homeland, House of Cards, and Mad Men for its final season. It’s nice that both Luther and Mr. Robot were thrown a bone, but it’s unlikely that either will win. This is a nice amount of nominations for HBO, and it would be a shock if they didn’t at least win half of them.
HBO sent out a congratulatory tweet to the nominated shows earlier this morning:
Next: HBO will air a documentary on heroin later this month.
The SAG awards will air on January 30th,2016 on TBS.
