This Week in True Detective: Awards Renewed Edition
This Week in True Detective brings the best of True Detective news from the past week.
This was an interesting week for True Detective. The Golden Globes took place, and Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, and Matthew McConaughey all showed up in new and interesting projects. Oh, you wanted something specifically related to season three? That will have to wait a bit longer. We did, however, have a chat with the man behind ImprovBoston’s True Defective: Season Three parody show.

First up, let’s talk about the Golden Globes. True Detective wasn’t even nominated, but Fargo, which had a fantastic second season, was snubbed. Hardcore. If True Detective was nominated there is strong evidence to believe that it wouldn’t have won anyway. On the awards front, Rachel McAdams was nominated for a People’s Choice Award for her for work on True Detective.

Considering the few award nominations that True Detective has managed to get and Michael Lombardo’s admission of guilt, is it time to finally stop being so hard on True Detective season two? Perhaps.
In terms of interesting projects from True Detective actors, Matthew McConaughey’s Free State of Jones had its first trailer, Colin Farrell teamed up with Google, and Rachel McAdams is circling her next big movie. Matthew McConaughey was also on the cover of Garden & Gun magazine.
Finally, we interviewed Luke Bruneaux, the director of ImprovBoston’s True Defective show. Don’t worry, his show comes from a very good place.
Next: Rachel McAdams may have her next big role.
