Woody Harrelson’s “Triple 9” Has a New Trailer (Video)
Woody Harrelson’s exciting thriller, Triple 9, has premiered a new trailer.
Not much is heard about Woody Harrelson these days. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that the choices he makes do not reverberate the same as the choices that, say, Matthew McConaughey or Rachel McAdams’ choices do.

That’s a shame, since Woody Harrelson was a big reason why the first season of True Detective worked so well.
True Detective fans have good reason to be excited for Woody Harrelson’s next project, since it appears to involve some of the better action of True Detective plus some interesting thriller elements. Check out the new trailer below:

It’s difficult to not think back to conversations between Frank and Ray when we see Harrelson speak with Casey Affleck in the trailer. There is definitely a True Detective vibe here, though the action is much more prominent. Not all that much has been said about Triple 9 which isn’t too surprising since, even though it packs major star power, it’s still an indie flick.
Woody Harrelson appears to even be playing a Frank Semyon-esque character. This new trailer, admittedly, doesn’t hit the same buttons as the original red band version. Even Free State of Jones may turn out to be genuinely great movie, but the trailer we saw didn’t really speak to us.
Next: Nic Pizzolatto's HBO deal could only bring us one season of True Detective.
Triple 9 releases on February 26th, so expect to hear a little more about it until then. It’s not a major studio release, so expect to take “a little more” at face value.
