Watch a New Trailer for Colin Farrell in The Lobster (Video)
A new trailer has been released for Colin Farrell’s bizarre new film, The Lobster.
Colin Farrell’s filmography is filled with equal parts mainstream, mega-budget fare, and exciting indie films. That’s why something like The Lobster, a movie in which Colin Farrell wants to avoid actually becoming a crustacean, doesn’t feel so odd. It’s a strange movie in general, but not when put into the context of Farrell’s storied career.
A new trailer has been released for The Lobster after it’s showing at the recent Sundance Film Festival. Let’s just get right to it:

- Lawmen: Bass Reeves season 1, episode 7 preview: Non-spoiler thoughts for Part VII
- Goosebumps season 1, episode 6 recap: “Night of the Living Dummy”
- Beacon 23 season 1, episode 3 recap: “Why Can’t We Go on as Three?”
- Upload season 3, episode 2 recap: “Strawberry”
This new trailer shows off some more of the black humor that pervades the movie and is overall more informative. Also, there is more John C. Riley, which is a big plus. Colin Farrell had to gain a bit of weight for the role — even more than he had to put on to play Ray Velcoro in True Detective.
As is usually the case with independent films making the festival circuit, The Lobster no longer has that new shine on it. It has actually been around since last year but hadn’t been picked up for major distribution until recently. It will finally officially release this year, likely in a limited showing unless it does exceptionally well. The premise of turning into an animal unless you find true love is a bit too weird for a wide release.

For those that aren’t interested in this particular version of Colin Farrell, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is on the way in which Farrell will play a wizard. So, that’s pretty cool.
