Watch a Trailer for “Bastille Day” Starring Idris Elba and Kelly Reilly (Video)
The trailer for the action-packed Bastille Day is here, though Kelly Reilly takes a backseat.
Idris Elba, through is work with Cary Fukunaga in Beasts of no Nation, is now tangentially connected to True Detective. He has also joked around about joining the cast of season three (or a future season) in the past. His presence in the action thriller Bastille Day, however, is not exactly the reason we’re here — that would be Kelly Reilly.
Kelly Reilly also stars in Bastille Day, though her role in the trailer is somewhat diminished. Idris Elba is the star here, make no mistake about it. Check it out:

Game of Thrones fans will likely notice that the other leading man is none other than Richard Madden, who played Robb Stark. In Bastille Day, former CIA agent Idris Elba will take Madden under his wing and Kelly Reilly will be the government handler. You know, your standard action fare.
This is Kelly Reilly’s big post-True Detective project, and it doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. Even though Reilly wasn’t a bit character in True Detective, she ultimately ended up as a footnote for many critics. In terms of action films involving True Detective actors, Woody Harrelson’s Triple 9 looks more like it could get the job done.

Hopefully Kelly Reilly’s role in Bastille Day is more than the trailer makes it appear. Bastille Day doesn’t currently have a North American release date, but will open in the UK on April 22nd. Being a UK production, it’s uncertain whether or not Bastille Day will actually release in America at all.
