Reminder: Rachel McAdams Will be at the Oscars this Weekend
The Academy Awards will take place this weekend, and Rachel McAdams could win big.
True Detective at the Oscars don’t mix — mainly due to the Oscars being for films only. Even if they did, however, it would be fair to say that True Detective wouldn’t be nominated considering the current award climate. That doesn’t mean that those involved with True Detective don’t have the chance to be honored, of course. Minus Cary Fukunaga, that is.
Rachel McAdams just happened to be involved in Spotlight, a film that is being counted as one of the best of the year. Spotlight is nominated for best picture as well as a host of other awards. Rachel McAdams is up for her first Oscar for her role in Spotlight, and this could have a significant impact on her career.

Or it could do very little for her career, which doesn’t need much help at the moment anyway.
Either way, winning an Academy Award is a huge honor. There’s reason to believe that she could win, including her recent honor from the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. We also know that she took his role very seriously, though that shouldn’t necessarily play a part in her chances.
If nobody is going to win for True Detective, it would at least be great if the actors involved could take home some gold for other roles. It also helps that Spotlight is brilliant and Rachel McAdams is fantastic in it.

Whichever way it goes, we’ll be checking out the Academy Awards this Sunday. Will you?
